Valentino FW19: a polished collection that speaks of love

“The people you love become ghosts inside of you and like this you keep them alive”. An installation, created from light and text by the poet and artist Robert Montgomery, provides the backdrop for the Fall Winter 19 show. That comes alive at Hôtel National des Invalides. Where the power of words and creative dialogue collide for Valentino collection. Very polished and delicate, in an interplay of light volumes on evening dresses that comes in different colors from grey to yellow, from brown to pink. But also in white and black tones. Like the high-neck gown with long sleeves that becomes cap ones on dresses embellished with multicolored paillettes. Then feathers, raffles, lace. The iconography of the Maison is interpreted by Pierpaolo Piccioli in a romantic key.

In the evening Valentino’s women express a fifteenth-century grace that meets the fifties on the bell hats in white or black tones. Sometimes embellished with prints, like woolen coats and mini dresses, paired with pointed-toe ankle boots. In black leather or iconic “Red Valentino”. The V logo marks allover handbags and clutches. Pussycat bows characterize see-through shirts with a polished style. The aesthetic code of this poetic collection that speaks of love.
